How you can apply for your Alchemy Private Medical Insurance
Who can apply?
You can apply for the Alchemy policy provided that you are at least 16 years old and less than 74 years of age. If you are over 64, you can only apply under the Full Medical Underwriting option. You will also need to be a resident in the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands.
When applying for the Alchemy policy you have a choice of how it’s underwritten.
Full Medical Underwriting
Through this method you will need to complete a full medical questionnaire. In some cases we will need to write to your GP for additional information.
Although this is a lengthier application process, it does give you the peace of mind of knowing exactly what will be included and excluded from your policy.
Moratorium
The moratorium method guarantees acceptance for applicants without the need for lengthy medical questionnaires. This means you could be covered as soon as we receive your application.
However any pre-existing conditions or symptoms you have had in the last 5 years would be automatically excluded from the policy, until you remain treatment, advice and symptom free for 2 years after taking out the policy.

Continued Personal Medical Exclusions (CPME) - company policies only
If you have an existing private medical insurance policy through a company scheme, you may be able to transfer your policy on a group basis to Alchemy.
This means you will benefit from the same underwriting terms as your existing policy.
